Valentine's Day Loot & Bunny Cookies

I'm going to be up late tonight making cookies for Phoebe's class at day care. Tomorrow is her last day as she's graduating to the next level and starts a whole new class on Monday (pray for us - the transition will most likely be hard during morning drop-offs). This has been a great class and she's learned so much. It's fun to watch her enjoy her friends and teachers - it makes working four days a week a bit easier. Since she's not there on Fridays, she misses a lot of fun events, pajama days, holiday parties, etc. However, they always include her come Monday. Here she is with all her loot - most of it has to do with Elmo - imagine that!

This past Friday we went to MOPS and then had lunch with YiaYia and Papou at Hellas (a little Greek restaurant not far from church). She ate her souvlaki like a good little Greek girl and entertained everyone in the place! Afterwards, I had to pick up some cookies for an office baby shower on Saturday. We've ruined the screen on her window by accidentally rolling her window down one too many times so we've just given up on replacing it. We've not had too many sunny days this winter but it was blessedly sunny on Friday. However, our girl is super-sensitive to sun in her eyes ("Bright! Bright!") so I grabbed her sunglasses from the bottom of her diaper bag and she wouldn't take them off when we got to the baker's shop. She was a ham and that's probably why she walked out of the kitchen with a bunny cookie the size of her head!

After we made it home, she took the glasses off but promptly put them back on (upside down, no less) and left them on till naptime (however, Friday was her first of what we hope are few and far between, nap-free days). I tried to get her down in her room, our room and finally gave up after two hours. She was in a great mood so why bother?

Sunday we headed to YiaYia and Papou's after church for lunch. She's still working through her aversion to cameras (she loves to see herself on the screen after a picture or video has been taken) so IF we get a smile, it's just by luck. Which makes me nervous - school pictures are coming up in a couple weeks (and let's face it, she's NEVER taken a good school picture) and then her two year pics will need to be the month after that. Here she is running from the camera and after Kali. That dog puts up with a LOT - chasing, ball snatching and even stealing YiaYia away for an afternoon nap in which Kali is NOT allowed to participate in! They make a good team anyhow!

So the question is, do we cut her hair when she turns two or just let it grow? The bangs she can tolerate getting trimmed (but just barely). She's just now letting me put in pony tails, I'm not sure I want to give that up!


Nana and Papa are coming from Georgia this weekend for a super-short visit to celebrate cousin Bailey's first birthday in Kokomo. We're happy they're coming and can't wait to catch up in person! Phoebe hasn't seen them (except via Skype) since Christmas. Yeah for visits!
