Flowers, Chicks & Eggs, Oh My!

You can't celebrate St. Patrick's Day without a little green hair, right!?

We made a stop at the Indiana State Fairgrounds to check out the Flower & Patio Show.

We've determined we need an architect to just design our backyard as we have no idea what we're doing!  Lots of good ideas to implement but we can't use them all!

Auntie surprised the kiddos with dinner out and a stop at Cold Stone for dessert.  That meant we got an impromptu date night which was a nice way to end the weekend!

The following weekend, Bevin and Uncle Steve came down to celebrate Easter.  They came with us to the Egg Drop and entertained themselves while we waited for the helicopter to arrive!

The kids had fun waiting, too!

Finally, they arrived.  It's hard to get a good picture of the drop from your phone but everyone was impressed in person so you'll just have to take my word for it!

We no longer have kids in the youngest group so both had to wait their turn to run out onto the field.

He got his 15 eggs lightning fast!

We came back to the house to show off our mad ping pong skills!

Then we took them to Conner Prairie since it had been at least 15 years since Uncle Steve had last visited the museum.

We had to stop in the barn to check out the new spring babies.  This calf was 2 weeks old.

Chickies.

Bevin is great at asking questions and learning new things while our kid just hops between the benches.

Old time fun.

Looking for fish - this one takes after his Daddy.

While the kiddos got a bath, my favorite sister made a last ditch effort with me to find an Easter outfit.  As we were heading home, we ran into the big guy himself!

And as the weather warms, we see LOTS of these in our neighborhood!

Since we were heading to the 9:00 service with the entire family, the search for eggs and baskets was a whirlwind!

Don't judge the floor, please!

After church, squinty pic with Auntie.

Squinty family pic.

LOVE.

We headed to YiaYia and Papou's for lunch and the kids entertained themselves till it was time to eat!

Phoebe can be quite the helper when she wants to be!

Getting some Uncle love.

Fighting the Uncle love.

Giving in.

One more family picture before the kiddos changed clothes.

I love this happy crew!

Auntie impressed with some saganaki!  Opa!

YiaYia made a lamb cake.

After we were stuffed, the kiddos burned off their meals with an egg hunt.

And ended the day climbing in a tree.

We're so grateful for a Savior that loves us more than we could possibly imagine.  The tomb is empty, folks!  And for that, we rejoice.  Christo Anesti!

March Madness

March always seems to go by in a blur but so did the end of February!  Phoebe's class had been working hard on Career Day.  Her group got assigned to learn about carpenters.  The day before the event, her teacher sent out a big invite to come see the crew in action - in the middle of the work day!

YiaYia, Papou and Auntie Kate to the rescue!  Phoebe is one lucky kiddo!

I fear there are many of these in our future!

That weekend we headed to Anderson so that Grandpa could be presented with a Quilt of Honor.  Aunt Bonnie read the commission.

It was a beautiful quilt!

We also took advantage of the time together and celebrated his 90th birthday again!

Then we burned off the cake outside for a bit!

Maverick loves to throw leaves!

Phoebe loves to do cartwheels!

The following weekend I took the kiddos to run a few errands while Ryan did some birthday shopping.  First on the list was a visit to Uncle Bill's - just for fun!  Hulk was a hit with Phoebe.

Goddard was more Mama's style.

Both were $2200 so we said good-bye and left puppyless once again!

We drove by a new park we'd never been to before and HAD to stop and check it out!

As Maverick is getting bigger, things are becoming less terrifying for him (but not for me!).

Phoebe still loves to climb.

Uncle Steve and Bevin came down Sunday to celebrate March birthdays together.

I have the best family!

And I'm lucky to spend another year on this planet with them!

Maverick helped me blow out the candles!

It was the year of ridiculous cards, as you can tell by my various expressions!

The girls went shopping after dessert and Uncle Steve indulged Phoebe in some serious Twister.

The next week, we registered our baby for Kindergarten.  Hard to believe!  He was pretty excited!

With the weather warming up, we get to see more of our neighbors outside which is always fun!  Friday, after school, the kids were playing together so we decided to just move the party to dinner at a nearby restaurant.  It was pure chaos but the kids loved every minute!

Saturday we promised the kids a little time at a park since we had a forecast full of rain for the following week.

Maverick insists on wearing crocs whenever possible but they are not conducive for running around on playgrounds full of mulch!

Trying our hand at a little football.

We're at the top of a hill we climbed but you can't tell.  I'm just thrilled we made it up and down not covered in mud!

We went to church Saturday night in an attempt to ease into the new time change.  After a lazy Sunday morning at home, we headed to Hamilton County Sports Complex for a birthday party.

A few of the friends failed to show up so Maverick got to participate, too.  He LOVED it!

Even this guy got in on the fun!

The foam block pit was by far the favorite.

We left the party early to head to the Coliseum to watch the Indy Fuel play some hockey.
Maverick didn't want to take a family selfie.

And after the second quarter, he was ready to move on.

Wasting time in the gift shop while Phoebe and Daddy watched the rest of the game.

Ryan caught a parachute with hand sanitizer attached from one of the hospital sponsors at the game and Maverick thought it was pretty awesome!

Despite ALL the activity on Sunday, our kids still struggled getting to bed "on time."  It's definitely a gradual adjustment but man, that first night is rough on everyone!  But at least it means Spring is around the corner!  Yay for that!
