Last year, when Ryan and I went out to Minnesota, the kids went to my parents' house for "camp." They decided to recreate a shortened version of it this past weekend.
They were completely outfitted in matching gear and took off for a nearby bird sanctuary.
Putting their new binoculars to good use!
The weather was a little suspect so they found some activities to do indoors. Here they are making bird nests out of noodles and melted butterscotch chips.
On our way home Saturday night, we got caught in a crazy storm. Luckily it was short and left us a full rainbow in the night sky.
YiaYia had a 3-page itinerary for their 24-hour adventure and they filled every minute with fun!
They painted birdhouses (do you notice a theme?).
They had a feather hunt!
Then they went to Holliday Park once the rain cleared up!
While they were at the park, Ryan took me to the shooting range! We'd bought him a "Pistol Pass" for Father's Day and he'd not been yet AND spouses shoot for free!
When we came to pick them up, they were busy in the backyard.
These two kiddos had a blast and are ready for their next camp experience! I think YiaYia and Papou may need a few months to recuperate though!
