Time to catch up on the last few weeks. Nothing monumental to blog about really and haven't even gotten the camera out to take a picture - thank the Lord for cameras on our phones! Phoebe's school had kindergarten movie night awhile back. All the kids came in their pjs and brought sleeping bags and pillows. Popcorn, lemonade, Meet the Robinsons - it was pure chaos but Phoebe had a blast. She preferred to be up and goofing off with her buddies than watch the movie so it appears we have a little social butterfly on our hands!
Maverick helped me shop at Trader Joe's (we've determined to never take both kids here at the same time as corralling them with two kid-size carts is simply a recipe for disaster and we leave exhausted every.single.time. However, taking one kiddo and maneuvering one small cart is do-able and they think it's a treat!
It looks like he's checking off his list but he's actually describing the Halloween stickers he got when we checked out.
Phoebe had a Fall Party at school and thinks these glow-in-the-dark vampire teeth are pretty cool.
Phoebe's school had a two-day fall break this year and since Ryan's company is so busy with year-end stuff, I got the kids to myself. Which of course means donuts for breakfast. There's a place in downtown Westfield that closes as soon as they run out so we don't always make it in time. However, we lucked out and got to eat in the shop with all the other 80-year old men drinking their coffee. Maverick prefers "black" donuts - er, that would be chocolate glazed for those of you confused by his request.
While Maverick and I had been grocery shopping, Ryan and Phoebe went to a craft store to cash in on the latest craze in elementary school - Rainbow Looms! Maverick looks SO focused trying to figure it out. Hands down, Ryan is the best and Phoebe loves all the cool styles he's created!
We made spider web cookies. You could tell, right!?
We bought these bowls with straws that reach the bottom and I now have TWO kids who drink the milk after their cereal is gone! What an invention and for 99 cents each, a bargain!
Maverick had his Halloween party on Thursday at school and because it POURED down rain, Trick or Treating officially got moved to Friday evening.
When we asked Maverick what he wanted to be, he promptly responded with, "A cow!"
Phoebe has been into SUPER everything lately so it was natural that she be "Super Girl" for the holiday.
Swarms of kids took over our neighborhood Friday night.
The neighbors across the street REALLY got into it (see their window, the spider and the witch hats!?). We stick with a strictly "fall" theme to get us from October to Thanksgiving.
YiaYia manned our front door so we could walk around with the kids. Phoebe's boots didn't quite stay in place but she didn't mind one bit.
Phoebe got to go see Disney's "Princesses & Pirates" after church on Sunday with her friend Maria.
Ryan ran a few errands while we were downtown and stopped in the mall for a few watch batteries. Then they began the search for a dining room table.
They also stopped at one of our kids' favorite spots (blech!) and Maverick had a good time just hanging out with Daddy!
The girls after the performance. We're lucky that we go to the same church and still get to see each other pretty regularly - they were born a week apart, got dedicated on the same day and then went to Shalom together. They are NUTS together but SO cute to watch!
This is what happens when you turn your back while attempting to make homemade pizzas for dinner. Our little cheese monster helped himself!
