Wow, where did fall go? We've had a very busy season and are looking forward to a bit slower-paced winter! The kiddos are in full Christmas-list-making mode!
Before I get too far ahead of myself, we have to catch up on Halloween. Pumpkin carving was a success, I even free-handed batman! Phoebe preferred a bunny for hers.
Maverick's class at school had a parade before their fall party.
Halloween morning, we hosted a baby shower for this beautiful friend! We are so excited to meet their little girl next month!
After the shower, we spent our afternoon blowing up balloons!
I even got in the holiday spirit!
Sunday morning, church was cancelled so we could go out and serve in our community. We headed to an assisted living residence with our small group and had gorgeous weather while we worked outside to spruce up their surroundings.
No, we didn't take a ride, but this one landed across from our grocery store and I was more excited about it than Maverick. Because our city still has some open fields, we see more than the average person - we've even had a few land IN our neighborhood on accident.
Phoebe's school does a fabulous job giving the students opportunities to have fun. Phoebe just finished up FOUR clubs (American Girl Doll, Play-Doh, Cheer and Garden). The last day of Garden Club was Saturday morning and it was chilly! Ryan went to help the crew build flower boxes and plant lots of bulbs.
We took a quick trip to Rural King - one of our favorites - and Phoebe was enamored with the bunnies!
Our leather couch (which Ryan bought 18 years ago) has officially started to show its age and we are on the hunt to replace it. The kids have handled it all in stride but this kind of activity makes the search a bit more tolerable for them!
Saturday morning the kids brought down toys to play with.
Phoebe has been hooked on Legos this last week.
As soon as the first snow started falling, the kids were outside!
We went with Auntie and YiaYia to a local craft fair and then headed for lunch and stopped for a few snowflakes along the way!
Maverick stayed home with Ryan while we went on the hunt for some snow boots! In his haste, Maverick ran out to play without socks on inside his boots and his little toes got a bit chilly about an hour into their snowman.
Sunday after church, we headed out for some more furniture shopping and the kids snuggled in and watched a little Kung Fu Panda while we tested out couches.
To break up the monotony of furniture stores, we stopped at a nearby pet store just to see some puppies and decided to take one out and play with her a bit. Phoebe was instantly in love!
Seriously, how do you say no to this? Well, I'll tell you how! It's super easy to do when its price tag is $2,300!!!
Puppy or not, we're looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving
as we have MUCH to be grateful for!
