A Spoonful of Lovin'

Phoebe has rediscovered her baby spoons and has been using them for everything she eats, whether it's practical or not.  Here she is eating her favorite banana yogurt and watching a little Snow White (which I think we forwarded through half of since she was scared by the mean old lady).  Good thing I just got it from the library and didn't actually purchase it.

We drove up to Noblesville and after lunch with Daddy (and a quick trip to Target) we headed home to make Valentine's Day cookies.  These cookies required our food chopper and a rolling pin, both of which are packed away somewhere in storage - so we had to use our imagination and be creative with what we had around the kitchen.  Phoebe wanted to cut the cherries herself with a butter knife and ended up knocking the plate over - because they were maraschino cherries, there was a lot of juice which ended up all over her face, her sweater, the cabinets and the floor.  At least it wasn't on the new carpet, right!?  Thus the topless shot here.

These cookies ended up being a bit more complicated so Phoebe moved on to "doing the dishes" for me instead.

Here's the cookie - before we dipped half into white chocolate on Saturday and then let Phoebe have free reign with sprinkles.  It was a mess, but they ended up being a success despite all the challenges.

Saturday, we had to make a stop at Hallmark to pick up a few Valentine's Day cards.  Phoebe entertained herself (and those around her) reading aloud all their new books.

Sunday, we ran a few errands and stopped in a store solely for Phoebe to check out some girly stuff.  She had no problem jumping right in.

This girl is going to have some serious phone conversations one day.  Depending on her mood, we can hardly get her to hold a phone at home most days.  Thank the Lord for Skype or we'd be lost!

All that playing must have worn her out - I told Ryan I couldn't remember the last time she'd napped on a Sunday.  It gave us the chance to drive to a new subdivision to check out a model home we'd wanted to look at.  They had a home theatre in the model's basement complete with popcorn and Toy Story 3 - so Phoebe had a hard time leaving.

Valentine's Day was pretty low-key which was nice after working all day.  I was able to still spend the evening with the two people I love most in this world and wouldn't have wanted it any other way.  Phoebe got one of my roses but wouldn't smell it long enough to take a picture.

They had a Valentine's Day party at school and it was pretty much like Halloween, just on a slightly smaller scale.  Most of her Valentine cards involved characters from Toy Story (which explains her excitement at the model home earlier).  Note her artistic abilities with a marker on her bag...

The standard gift was M&M's (she calls them Lm&Lm's) which was fine with her!  There were a few parents who went with alternatives - a mini dinosaur, a honey stick or homemade playdough.  Let's just say we have enough candy to see us through the rest of winter!
