Halfway through June!

Things are pretty status quo around the Wallis house.  Phoebe continues to sleep in all kinds of positions, except "normal."

Last Thursday, I got a call that Maverick had a fever of 102.5 and that Roseola was going around his class.  We went to the pediatrician on Friday morning since he still had a fever.  She said we wouldn't know if it was Roseola till a rash broke out and the fever was gone.  He also had red ears so she went ahead and wrote a prescription for amoxicillin which I promptly filled, just to be safe!  In the meantime, he was NOT a happy boy so we did whatever we could to survive.  And that meant letting him have free reign in the fridge - one of his all-time favorite activities. 

Friday night, I went out with one of my best girlfriends to celebrate her birthday.  Saturday, Ryan got up early to purchase this and go fishing.  It was a long weekend because we were home bound (apparently you're only contagious with Roseola when you actually have the fever).  Luckily Phoebe is too old to get it but we still had to disinfect everything daily as I had come down with pink eye the same day he came down with the fever. 

His fever lasted till Saturday night and then Sunday was the BEST day. He was such a happy kid!  He did get a rash on Monday but it was barely noticeable.  We were just thrilled that no one else got it or the stink eye.  Hopefully we're done with germs around here for awhile!

The following weekend, we headed to Princeton Saturday morning as Nana was bringing GG back from Atlanta.  Unfortunately, our trip came at the same time as an attack of gout for Ryan, so he spent our time there in a lazy boy with his foot propped up, on pain meds and a heating pad.  Poor guy.  He got to watch all the entertainment from the sidelines and we didn't go anywhere since it was such a short trip - as in not even 24 hours in P-town.

Since KinderDance ended last month, Phoebe got to try out a free class at Crouching Tigers.  She learned this move called "Noodle Body."  We've since enrolled her in the class so expect her to be breaking boards in no time!

Nana helped Phoebe burn some energy while we took CoCo for a walk.

Ryan wasn't really interested in having his picture taken while being an invalid.  We even got out a heating pad to try and alleviate some of the pain.  Turns out, after a visit to the doctor on Monday, the medicine he was given a year ago actually makes gout worse if the attack has already occurred so he's now on the mend with different medicine and hobbling a bit less each day.

He has yet to get his first haircut and this is why.  It's going to be a sad day when these curls disappear.

The ONLY time he will sit still is when he drinks a bottle.  He only gets two bottles a day - when he first wakes up and before he goes to sleep.  We're slowly making progress and one day soon we'll be a bottle-free household.

He's into everything - you can barely see the open drawer in the background.  He cleared out GG's kitchen drawers for her!

We left Princeton in time for Maverick to take his nap on the ride home.  We stopped for lunch once he woke up and he was SO delightfully happy - a mess, but so happy.

 

Since we got home earlier than normal, we had some energy to burn after the long car ride and Phoebe wanted to go to a park and play. However, it was 90 outside so we gave her the option of going to the pool or a splash park. 

She opted for the splash park - here she's showing Maverick the ropes.

I can't tell you how many times I said "Don't run!"  We're working on our listening skills...

Maverick enjoyed it more than we thought he would.
