Ryan's 37th Birthday!

Ever feel so far behind that it may just not be worth catching up!?  We're almost to the end of February and I'm finally posting pictures of Ryan's birthday that was WAY back in January!  My sweetheart turned 37 recently (and while watching the Olympics and hearing the commentators discuss Bode Miller and how he was the oldest competitor in downhill skiing at age 36 - we discovered how old we really were!).  Since his actual birthday fell on a Tuesday, we celebrated with brownies in a bowl.  We know how to celebrate, right?

Truth is, we count our blessings each and every day and having an intact family with good health, good jobs, good kids - we couldn't ask for more.  God has richly blessed us and we don't need a birthday to celebrate those gifts.

I believe there was another snow day that week and you can pretty much tell we're over the snow at this point.

We brought the kids' craft table downstairs just to shake things up a bit.  However, food on the carpet, not ideal.  So the table swiftly made its way back upstairs to the laundry room! Ha!

Ryan came home from work and we escaped to Target after dinner just to get out of the house.  Both kiddos had gotten a gift card to Target for Christmas from Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Eric so there was shopping to be done!  Phoebe picked out this gem that is currently STILL sitting in our family room!

Maverick picked out an activity carpet complete with dump trucks and blocks!

That weekend we had the official birthday celebration with family.  We went out for dinner and for the bazillionth time swore we'd never eat out with our children again!  YiaYia and Papou were certainly exhausted after dinner with our yahoos but made the trek to our house for cake and presents all the same - just a testament to how very much they love us (and our children)!

Ryan requested lemon cake so we experimented with a new recipe.

Then it was time for presents!

The kids still love to assist in this arena.

Nothing a fairy wand can't fix, right!?  Abracadabra, Daddy's 32 again!

Since I was lazy and took birthday pics with my iPhone, Maverick discovered the art of the selfie!  Here's the whole lot!

In January, our children's ministry at church collected winter hats and gloves to donate to children in the Ukraine.  Maverick wanted to model his donation on our way to Sunday School!

Phoebe didn't want to try on her hat but she rocked my sunglasses, don't you think!?
