The way the holidays fell this year closed my office Tue-Thur each week so in the last three weeks, I think I've been in the office ONE day. My one day in, Ryan took the kids with him to the office and they had a great time together just being silly!
We only had a few repeat gifts this year so I took the kids to Toys R Us to return them and pick out something else. We spent a LOT of time in the stuffed animal aisle but as you can plainly see, our children do NOT need any more stuffed items of any sort! They finally decided on matching guitars! Now we just need Papou to tune them and I'm sure they'll be on their way!
Before Auntie Kate had to head back to Upland, we decided to try our hand at ice skating.
It was quickly determined that we needed walkers - unfortunately, only children under five are allowed to use them on the ice!
Maverick wasn't such a fan of the ice and we weren't steady enough to hold him up at the beginning - luckily it was only a $3 skate rental!
As it were, watching Phoebe was pretty entertaining, not to mention they had a few arcade games, nachos and gatorade to help pass the time!
By the time we were leaving (because hockey practice was getting ready to start) Phoebe was already asking to come back the next day! If I could get a video to load on blogger (urgh!) you'd see how quickly she picked it up.
Luckily, Auntie made it back to Upland before the snow started to fall and fall and fall...the kids helped shovel considering we had over a foot of snow and are one of the few homes in the neighborhood without a snow blower. Ryan was diligent about shoveling every couple of hours since we were getting over an inch an hour for most of the day. Church was cancelled. Work and school were cancelled.
We had our front walk all clear when we went to bed Sunday night and this is what our front porch looked like Monday morning. It was nuts!

Before the snow hit on Saturday, we'd run a few errands - Phoebe had been asking for a nightgown and since she's growing like a weed and most of her pjs no longer fit her, we obliged. This one even came with a matching gown for her doll to wear!

While scavenging the grocery store for remnants (they were seriously out of bread, milk, etc.) I came across a holiday rice krispie decorating kit for $3 - cheap entertainment comes in handy when you're snowed in!
Phoebe has had some wiggly front teeth for quite some time. We tied a string to our doorknob to get the first one out (at her request). She was so excited and asked the Tooth Fairy for two gold coins! Luckily, Toothie Teena has one heck of a piggy bank and was able to oblige.
Twice! The next day, this one just popped out.
