The Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Phoebe was out of school so I stayed home with the kiddos doing last minute preparations before our Georgia family arrived. After a pecan pie mishap in the oven, we finally gave up, got dressed and headed out to grab a few last-minute items. When I got to the garage, the door was open and both kiddos were in the front. Guess they were ready to go!
Thursday was spent relaxing indoors. Indiana's cooler temperatures didn't agree with our cold-blooded family members! We got out the Pollock's ice skating rink which provided hours of entertainment for the littlest ones.

Friday morning, Ryan got up extra early to snag a black Friday special on a fancy snow blower. Hoping his purchase has jinxed most of Indiana and we'll end up not needing to use it this year! Here's to fingers crossed!
After Ryan got home from work, we headed downtown to the Rhythm! Discovery Center to get our music on! The kids had fun releasing energy and making some noise!
On our way home we stopped for dinner and then hit Reynolds to check out their lights.

Aunt Carrie wanted to have her children experience Conner Prairie since they'd never been before so we headed there on Saturday. I think the kids had more fun inside than out.

We finally made it outside only to discover that most of the town had been closed down for the season. We still got to see the animals and talk to a few of the townspeople.
They even had some turkeys that survived the holiday!
Sunday morning they headed out before most of us were even out of bed. After church, we headed to lunch and the kiddos insisted on eating by themselves. I won't say it was a relaxing meal, but it was cute to watch them interact together.
We also made a very important stop Sunday afternoon to see Santa. Not sure what Maverick asked for exactly but Phoebe wanted a wolf (just like the one Sophie got at the Conner Prairie gift store...good thing Nana saved the day on that one!). And I'm out $30 on pictures because I felt guilty taking them to see him and not getting something...at least they're both smiling! Phoebe later told us that she didn't think that this guy was the REAL Santa. I agree, Phoebe, I agree!
We made one final stop to Orvis where Phoebe has been asking for this stuffed puppy (with a $60 price tag) since she discovered him over the summer. She even came home last night and counted all the money in her wallet. She's about $17 shy of the total so she promptly went and put that exact amount on her Christmas list.
This one was happy to just jump around on the dog beds...
And Chippey has made his annual appearance at the Wallis house. Good thing he and Homer Santa get along so well!
