When it hasn't been raining, the weather in Indiana has been quite lovely. A bit overcast, cool - which means we MUST be outdoors! As we prepared for Father's Day, we stopped at a nearby tavern for a gift card for Papou and when we realized the kiddos couldn't eat inside because of their age, we ordered carry out and wasted some time.
Then we picnicked at a nearby park. Phoebe absolutely LOVES monkey bars and her hands are proof! Not only does she still pick her nails but now she has callouses that cover her whole hand!
We of course had to spend some time IN the water.
Don't mind the post-workout, no-shower look. It was a lazy Saturday.
And I love this man with my whole heart.
This one, too!
Uncle Steve and Bevin met up with us after dinner for some ice cream and fun. Note: This is the kind of rough-housing to avoid immediately after eating. Otherwise, we see puke at 10:00 later that night...lesson learned (again).
After a lovely Greek lunch out on Father's Day, we headed to YiaYia and Papou's for dessert and gifts.
Because the man needs another watch.
We had to outfit our favorite fisherman!
Phoebe drew a picture of Papou and Maverick signed his name. A keepsake for sure!
I love Dad's expressions.
And his laugh.
Friday night was round two of swimming lessons. Maverick still wasn't too sure about getting in the water but that didn't last long.
His class is on the left and Phoebe's is on the right - 30 minutes goes WAY too fast in their opinion!
After church we headed to a local park. Our plan was to hike a quick trail and then hit the playground before running a few errands. Phoebe attempted to swing like Tarzan.
Because of all the rain, all the little creeks which are usually near-dry were running and high.
But that also meant mud. LOTS of mud.
Maverick's face cracks me up!
Did I mention there was mud!?
We obviously didn't make it to the playground OR errands before a trip home to change first. But we had some good laughs along the way.
