As soon as we rang in the New Year, we were off celebrating this guy's birthday! Since his birthday fell on a week day, we opened cards and banana twinkies on his actual birthday. I mean, you need to celebrate something, right!?
YiaYia and Papou came over with Giardano's pizza over the weekend and we celebrated his 39th year complete with brownies and ice cream.
He got a few gift cards to shop for himself.
And a personalized game controller!
Due to winter temperatures finally arriving in Indiana, we've been spending more time indoors. Which means playing Xbox Kinect with the kiddos! It's pretty entertaining!
Last Friday, we headed down south to Princeton but not before I came to eat lunch with both Phoebe and Maverick.
We arrived just in time for GG's dinner and then promptly got down to business celebrating one last Christmas!
Maverick was an excellent assistant but told Nana what she was getting before she had it opened. Maybe next year we'll be able to keep a secret...
The kiddos loved GG's stationary bike and were intrigued by her electric organ!
They also loved staying in a hotel!
No visit to Princeton is complete without a stop at Rural King. I was concerned for a bit that at least one of us would be walking out with an animal of some sort but we managed to avoid it somehow.
Stopped for a late lunch at Dick Clark's.
With full bellies, we headed to visit Great Grandmother Wallis. Our Georgia family wasn't used to the frigid temperatures so they warmed up by the fire!
Lucas was a great sport all weekend, being 10 years older than the next grandchild. Can't believe he was the ring bearer in our wedding and now he's a senior in high school!
We even got to spend some time with Aunt Cindy who was celebrating the big 5-0 on Sunday.
Nana started a new position at work on Monday so she and Papa had to head home on Sunday morning. Since the kids all had MLK day off of school, we stayed around for an extra day. We made sure Nana got plenty of grandbaby snuggles before saying good bye.
Since it was too cold to be outside we headed to Evansville and stopped at SkyZone with lots of energy to burn!
Even the big boys got in on the jumping action!
Ryan's impressive dunking skills.
Maverick spent the majority of his time jumping into the blocks.
Phoebe might have basketball in her future!
60 minutes on trampolines did everyone in quicker than we imagined!
After lunch we headed over to a local bowling alley for some friendly competition. Pretty sure not one of us broke 100 but we had lots of fun trying!
The kids swam each day in the pool and by the end of our stay were pretty fearless! Lots of cannonball jumping ensued.
Phoebe showed off her backstroke, too!
We got our fill of puppy dogs while were there between Riley, Fozzie and CoCo. Saying good-bye to CoCo and GG on Monday afternoon made this little girl a bit sad.
No trip home would be complete without a stop at Boot City!
We were so grateful to spend time together with family we don't get to see very often.
