Friday Auntie Kate came over and we decided to take advantage of our "family plus two" memberships by going to the Indianapolis Zoo. Maverick was one happy camper!
I was entertained watching Auntie try to spend time with both kids equally - it involves a little juggling!
We spent $25 on lunch for the three of us and I think most of it was for bottled water! However, the weather was perfect - sunny and low humidity.
We took the train.
You could say we were gluttons for punishment because when we left the zoo, we headed straight to the Children's Museum. Auntie hadn't been in awhile so we took her to a few of the newer exhibits.
When we asked Phoebe what she wanted to do in our limited time there, all she wanted to play with was the water.
And of course we had to ride the carousel. Now that Phoebe is 3, she can ride on the animals that go up and down.
We shut down the museum and got in line to wave our flags in the closing parade.
Saturday morning we headed down to Princeton. CoCo now resides with GG - we'll see if we have to make a return trip to pick her up! The heat skyrocketed but we're pretty sure our kids are immune to heat and humidity so we took a few walks while Phoebe mastered the Big Wheels!
Phoebe helped GG water her flowers.
We made a visit to see Grandmother Wallis and introduced her to Maverick.
This guy is our little wiggle worm. No matter how we lay him down, he always does a 180 degree turn.
Phoebe had fun playing the organ.
And GG had fun playing with Maverick.
Now we're adjusting back to a "normal" schedule but Phoebe's having a hard time. Last night she was still wide awake at 11:30. When I went in the last time, she was camped out next to her door with a pillow and blanket. Seems she had too many animals in her bed (the same four that are there every night - Mouse, Roy, Ana and Ella). When I asked her to go to sleep she asked if I'd leave her door open. When I asked her why, she said, "I need to breathe." Love this little girl. We finally let her get in bed with us around midnight and two minutes later she was asleep and didn't even budge when Ryan carried her back to her room.
