May, Take Three

Although his goose egg is slowly but surely fading, Maverick just wasn't meant to keep his cute face simple this month.  Thursday, I picked him up after work and apparently there'd been a scuffle over a toy and he got the brunt of it.  He seems to be handling it all in stride - and it made me go home and make sure his nails were nice and trim so he can't do the same to someone else!  We headed to the library Friday afternoon to pick up a book I had on hold.  Not sure if it was school or the library but Saturday he woke up with pink eye!  Poor kid still can't catch a break!

A little eye gunk didn't deter us though!  We had a big KinderDance recital to attend.  They were doing 12 schools every half hour all in a row and everything went smoothly and on schedule.  Here's Phoebe hanging out with her pals before the big show.  Love the tutus - the tiaras just didn't agree with fine hair but we made it through the event all the same!

Most of the crew - Stinna, Madelyn, Lola, Phoebe, Maria, Eli (his grandma owns the KinderDance franchise in Indy and usually loves their class - Saturday was another story) and Phoebe's best friend, Hadley.

Warming up.

Stretching some more.

The curtsy.

They even did a few tap numbers for us on the carpet.

Yeah, that's my kid on the floor in the crowd.  It was at our church so he felt pretty comfortable moving around on his own.

Phoebe with sunflowers from Nana and Papa.

Pink roses from Mommy, Daddy and Maverick.

Good-bye hugs for Miss Ana - I observed many KinderDance classes since they were on Fridays and oh boy, let's just say this lady has patience I'd pay good money to have!  The kids did a fantastic job and I'm sure it's because they have such a great teacher whom they like and have fun with!

Chasing Maria (who also goes to our church) around the lobby.  They were beyond wound up before and after the performance!

And then for whatever reason, we got a little attitude when it was time to leave.

Phoebe is NOT afraid to tell it like it is.

Since we don't seem to have any vases in the apartment, we combined flowers and put them in one of Nana's mason jars - Phoebe loves her flowers!

Sunday was Papou's 62nd birthday (don't ask about the candles - we'll be making an effort to stock more numbers for future family parties).

Looking rougher but at least the eye isn't pink and oozing anymore!  So thankful we had drops left over from the last time pink eye plagued our household!

Phoebe, once again, assisting in gift opening.

Sporting his Greek shirt in honor of Papou.

And this is currently what our living room looks like.  We have gone ahead and just bit the bullet.  We're going to build a home in Westfield and are getting pretty darn excited about it.  However, that means we're in the apartment for at least five more months so we headed to storage in search of our summer clothes.  Of course when we originally packed the first storage unit, we had no intention of using it so long - our totes of summer gear were in the back corner, on the bottom.  And we're still missing half of Ryan's summer clothes and all my sandals.  We'll survive somehow, besides, the kids loved playing in the totes so it was all worth the sweat.  This just means we have a LOT of organizing to do before Papa heads back north for the race!
