This little guy prefers to run around naked but after peeing on the carpet for the first time Friday morning, most of his nakedness now ends at his diaper.
We were blessed with gorgeous 70 degree temperatures all weekend long. It was so nice to have the air conditioning off and all the screen doors open. We made some banana bread after breakfast and when I told Phoebe her bread smelled delicious, she told me it was the soda. Who knew baking soda could smell so good!?
After running to the library, we came home, ate some lunch and then attempted to take a nap without driving around. With gas almost up to $4/gallon, I decided to try for a nap without a car seat! He ended up napping on my lap in the recliner after much fighting and fussing from his bed. However, he slept a solid hour without requiring any fuel so I still count it a success! Then of course, we headed to a park since it was so nice outside. There aren't many pictures since juggling two usually requires both hands these days!
And these Cinderella horses have been a big hit lately for both of them.
Disregard the saggy diaper. I just had to show him parading around in Phoebe's shoes. We've had a major growth spurt in our house. Phoebe is officially into size 10 shoes and all of her summer shoes and all of last winter's shoes are all headed to storage. While we were cleaning out her closet, Maverick put on a fashion show!
We ran quite a few errands this weekend and the kids were troopers! One of our stops was Hobby Lobby in search of a plain white pillow case for a project for Phoebe's class at school (we've yet to find one anywhere so suggestions would be appreciated!) - but we took a rest in the material section and I got some cute pictures.
And because our kids were SO good while we ran around, we got in another park before dinner. Ryan and I decided we just need to build a sandbox in our backyard and they'll be set. They seem to love playing in the sand all of a sudden!
And for those of you who were beginning to think our children were just perfect, think again! Phoebe likes to believe she's Maverick's second mommy and Maverick's new favorite word is, "No." This isn't an ideal mix but we're enjoying it all the same. Phoebe got some new socks and they're both modeling them before they got thrown in the laundry.
We're making progress on the house as well. The basement walls got poured.
Then waterproofed.
Today they ran all the plumbing so we're hoping the slabs get poured tomorrow!
