Birthdays, Round One

Auntie Kate missed us SO much that she drove in last Friday from Pennsylvania and we spent all day together on Saturday.  As luck would have it, we're both standing up in weddings on the same date in July, both wearing dresses in the exact same color.  We took Phoebe (who is SO excited to be a flower girl for the wedding I'm in) and went to get fitted for our dresses.  Phoebe could only look at dresses for so long and then took to entertaining herself.

We had to order balloons for Phoebe's party on Sunday and the girls had a good time in Party City.

YiaYia and Papou joined us Saturday for dinner and a celebratory brownie.  First our new two-year-old got to give the candle-blowing a try.

Then our almost-five-year-old got a turn!

Maverick gets SO excited about things - presents, excavators, flags, horses...

He loves trains almost as much as construction equipment!

Uncle Steve couldn't make the trip back down but he still got his presents delivered!  Maverick loves his new basketball hoop!

Phoebe LOVES her Barbie unicorn and convertible!

After presents were opened, Maverick got a little silly.

Sunday we got together for brunch and then rushed to YiaYia and Papou's to have a quick birthday celebration for Auntie Kate.

We're loving the warmer temperatures and being outdoors!

I think Phoebe would play hide-n-seek ALL day long if we let her!  Unfortunately, she tends to hide in the exact same place the person before her just hid so it gets old fairly quick...

Maverick gave Auntie one of his finger paint masterpieces!

After Auntie's party, we headed downtown to Rhythm! Discovery Center for a birthday party for Phoebe and three of her school friends who all have birthdays near each other.

Julia, Maria, Phoebe & Hadley

They each picked out their own flavor of cupcake - Maverick had a hard time picking just two.

While the girls played together, Maverick preferred to ride the escalators!

Once we got inside the center, Maverick found LOTS to keep him busy!

The kids each made a shaker, decorated with gobs of stickers!

Maverick was too preoccupied with the instruments to make one of his own.

Here are all the kids with their instruments.

We did a drum circle which was pretty entertaining.

Then it was time to have some free play.

Phoebe is NOT a fan of loud noises but still managed to have a blast!

This little guy didn't want to leave but when things wrapped up after 4:00, he was in desperate need of a nap!

Just wanted to throw in some sibling love.

Can you tell which one REALLY likes his spaghetti?
