Spring has Sprung!

 

As we've been waiting for the weather to warm up, we have to get a little creative with how we have fun indoors.  Good thing I got new pots and pans for my birthday - it was the perfect-sized box for our two kiddos!

 

 

We even find ways to have fun in the hardware store!

 

 

Luckily, the sun is shining, the snow is melting and we're finally getting outside!

 

 

 

The kids are REALLY enjoying having neighbors that have kids similar in age. 

 

This one is a dirt magnet!!!  Every mound of snow he could find left on the ground he either took a shovel to or stomped on!

 

School was closed for Good Friday so we stayed inside while it was still a bit chilly out in the morning and made banana bread.  Phoebe has an aversion to nuts like her Auntie Kate so she made her mini muffins without them.  And promptly ate FOUR...

 

While Maverick napped (yes, alone AND in his bed) we dyed eggs.  Is she not just the cutest?

 

Saturday, a local church hosted an Egg Drop.  We got tattoos.

 

We bounced.

 

 

 

 

We stopped bouncing long enough to check out the fire truck but it was a battle getting the shoes back on!

 

 

Then we waited.

 

 

And then the wait was over!  If you look closely, you can see the eggs falling to the ground.  The helicopter flew over four times before the kids were released onto the field.

 

AND...then we bounced some more...

 

While Maverick napped, I took this cute one to Target.  Note: She dressed herself.

Uncle Steve met us at the store and got some birthday shopping done.  When we got home, this dirt eater was waiting for us.

 

Because of the foot of snow we got the weekend before, the neighborhood Easter Egg hunt was moved to the Saturday before Easter.  Here's Maverick sneaking an egg before they were set free.

It's a fair assumption that neither of our children are morning people.  They're not even motivated by gifts or candy in the early hours of the morning.

Another Easter Egg hunt at YiaYia and Papou's.

 

 

GGMa and GGPa came to celebrate and soaked up some sun while the kids looked for their eggs.

 

This past Wednesday, our little guy turned TWO.  He seems to have an aversion to cake so we opted for a gigantic cookie instead.  Be amazed by my decorating skills, y'all.  He's talking more each and every day.  And he's stubborn and delightful.  He gets SO excited about things and loves to be outside playing.  The little guy has NO fear which scares this mama just a bit!  The last two years have gone by so completely fast and are so blessed that God saw us fit to be this sweetheart's parents!

 

We're not officially celebrating till the weekend (and next weekend) but we let him open one gift.  He was pretty excited about his battery-operated excavator!

We had this excitement during dinner last night.  A working bulldozer in our very own backyard!  The kids were enthralled!

 

We can't wait for the next few weekends!  Auntie Kate is coming today, Uncle Steve is coming tomorrow so we can celebrate Maverick, Auntie & Phoebe's birthdays.  We also have Phoebe's "friend" party on Sunday and then Nana and Papa come in the following weekend.  Praying for lots of sunshine and good health - Ryan came down with a cold on Wednesday but we're hoping he is finally on the mend and no one else picks it up!
