Birthdays Continued!

Costco saved us on St. Patrick's Day - yeah, we all wore green so we didn't get pinched and the kids' leprechaun trap next door resulted in pots of gold coins and plastic hats thanks to our dear, creative neighbor.  My contribution?  Shamrock ravioli and broccoli for dinner - take that, Pinterest!

In an effort to not get stuck in front of the TV when the kids are in bed, we tried our hands at a puzzle last week - Ryan has a gift and can see things that I just simply don't see.  And let's be honest, he's a LOT more patient than I do...probably why he finished it alone Friday night!

Each student is assigned a week in Phoebe's class where they are the STAR student.  The weekend before, they bring home Stuffie the Star bear (in an awesome tie-dyed backpack) and have to journal about their weekend with him and then get "interviewed" at school by their classmates.  They also get to fill an "estimation jar" and a "mystery box" that they provide clues for.  We had to try and document our weekend and get pictures for her journal.  Good thing Star Bear likes smoothies!

Saturday afternoon, we met up with Uncle Steve and went shopping for the perfect running shoes (his birthday request).  After making our purchases, we headed over to YiaYia and Papou's for dinner with them and Auntie Kate.  It's amazing how much entertainment a balance ball can provide our children!

Auntie brought down some of her favorite chapter books from when she was a girl.  Phoebe enjoyed the story, she just did NOT want her picture taken (as you can plainly see).

YiaYia gave Mack a camera (think stress ball material) and he went out around telling everyone to say "Cheese!"

Uncle Steve makes a good pillow and is excellent at cards.

Sunday morning, we played with Star Bear and our new horse, creatively named "Whitey."

Everyone came over for lunch on Sunday.  Even GGMa and GGPa came from Anderson!  While we waited for lunch they played a mean game of "Spot It!"

And then we ate our weight in birthday cake and pie!

After dessert and presents, we decided it was time to be super heroes!

And then needed to rest.

This one cracks me up.  Everyone but YiaYia is on a phone!

Monday, after lunch, Maverick got picked up by Auntie Kate for a date at the Children's Museum.

He obviously had a GREAT time - he never, ever falls asleep in the car anymore!

While we were making dinner, Maverick was chasing Phoebe and hit the wall.  We actually run into it a lot but this time he got a pretty good goose egg - the only way to make it better?  Rock candy after supper.

Thankfully, Auntie bought enough to share!

Tuesday, Auntie and Papou surprised Phoebe for lunch at school with some Chick-fil-a!

You get to pick two friends to sit with you so she had Josie and Hayden come over.

They played a few rounds of Simon Says before lunch was over.  Apparently, that's THE game to play in the cafeteria!

They also mastered the art of the selfie with Auntie's phone!
