Party with Papou and Field Day!

Last weekend I had an early morning doctor's appointment so Ryan got up with the kids, let them dress themselves and headed out to get some donuts!  Shortly after I got home, we headed out for some real food and then to Conner Prairie for Civil War Days.  It was packed but we managed to sneak in a picture with Abraham Lincoln!

The Confederate Army getting ready to head to the battlefield.  We stayed a bit back because the cannons were quite loud for our littles' ears!

Phoebe was more anxious to go visit her baby goat anyhow - and luckily for her, most everyone was still at the battleground so we even got to feed them again!

And we got to see the baby pigs that were just a day old when we visited about a month ago.

Sunday after church we headed to YiaYia and Papou's to celebrate someone's 64th birthday.  We had to get creative with the candles but managed to get the point across!

Uncle Steve and Bevin came down and were promptly wore out by our children!  Maverick found an old-fashioned football he'd gotten from Santa this past Christmas and took it with him everywhere!  They played a mean game of "Fumble!"

Phoebe sang a new song she learned in church with YiaYia over and over and over again!  It warms my heart to hear her sing songs about God and her faith.

Maverick was MUCH more interested in picking up sticks to put in their new fire pit.

Kali thought the sticks were for her but Maverick fought hard and won!

I took Monday off to surprise Phoebe at school for lunch.

She loved hanging out with her girls at the special table and so did Maverick!

After lunch and a quick 30 minutes spent copying in the teachers' lounge for Miss Gorby, we headed outside for Kindergarten Field Day.  Phoebe's got moves like her mama!  Here's her take on limbo.

How low can she go!?

See that red dot in the middle of the picture?  That's Maverick.  He did NOT want to stand still and watch his big sis play!  We are STILL working on listening AND obeying...

They did a potato sack race.

The classic over/under game.  This was by far the trickiest station - mostly because the kids got so distracted and couldn't figure out where to get/give the ball next.

Maverick finally stood still because he found DIRT!

Tiki torch race.

Chicken run!

Sharks and Minnows!

Maverick loved checking out all the school buses!

No better way to celebrate a successful field day than with a popsicle!

I signed her out early and we headed to a nearby park to go visit Chumley.  I wouldn't be surprised if Phoebe became a veterinarian the way she loves animals!

Then we did a little nature trail before I was reminded of the TICKS that live in the forest and promptly headed to the playground where it would be safe!
