Grandpas Galore!

Last Friday, Ryan went on a field trip with Maverick's class to the downtown library.  Maverick loved having his daddy along for the visit!

We'd planned on getting Maverick a MUCH needed haircut over the long weekend but when I asked him if I could cut his hair Friday night and he said "YES!" I didn't hesitate.  It's no glamorous do, but it will certainly help keep him cooler as summer approaches!  

Our baby is growing up WAY too fast.

Papa came to town for the Indy 500.  He even stopped at Long's and got donuts!  AND he was up with the kiddos before 7:00 Saturday morning to eat them, too!

I firmly believe one of Phoebe's love languages is simply donuts.  Preferably chocolate, unfilled Long Johns.

After breakfast, Papa headed back upstairs to catch some more shut eye so we tried to play quietly downstairs.

Still one of his favorite things to do is knock over towers of any sort.

After a quick lunch we headed downtown for the parade.  Without a doubt, it was the most enjoyed parade our family has ever been to.  

After the parade we headed back north to grab a present and then were off to a birthday party for one of Phoebe's friends from school.  She had a blast!  After it was over, she promptly asked if we could have her birthday party there in two weeks.  I think we failed her by not having a "friend" party this year.

While Phoebe was at the party, Ryan took Maverick to a nearby park to burn off some energy.

Sunday after church we headed to meet Granddaddy who was visiting from Virginia. Phoebe takes her sun protection VERY seriously - sometimes it requires 3 hats! 

After hearing all about our experience at Conner Prairie and the Civil War Days, Granddaddy wanted to check it out himself as he did a lot of the reenactments when he was younger.

Phoebe tried her hand at dipping candles.

And their splash pad is officially open for the summer and I have a feeling next time the kids will want to bring their swimsuits!

This type of bowling was MUCH more successful than at the actual bowling alley!

Obviously someone was tuckered out after the fun day!

Monday morning, Papa left bright and early to head back to Georgia.  We headed to a park to have a picnic and take a hike on one of its trails.

Of course we had to stop and throw a rock (or thirty) into the water!

And then cool off a bit, too!

The neighborhood pool opened this weekend as well but since it was so very full, we played in the sprinkler instead!  

Tuesday, however, we headed to the pool!  I think swim lessons need to happen asap for our two little fish!  They desperately want to swim but we need to work on our skills a bit first!  For now, we're thankful that our Puddle Jumpers still fit!
