Last weekend we hit up a Farmer's Market for breakfast and some fresh veggies!
We also had a picnic at a nearby park.
Silly selfie.
We had to stop and feed the fish and ducks on our walk!
Taking a break in the shade.
Ever since cheer camp, Phoebe has been cheering like crazy!
Goooooo team!
And of course we had to finish with a visit to the playground.
Monday, Auntie Kate came to town to rescue us from a week without childcare. It certainly worked out in Phoebe's favor as she got some one-on-one time with Auntie! And they spent a lot of that time swimming!
And eating chocolate ice cream!
Our local movie theater has $1 movie mornings a couple days a week and since we also had a lot of rain last week, they took full advantage of it!
Phoebe even got to eat lunch at her favorite spot, Jimmy John's! She was in heaven!
They even survived a tornado warning together and hunkered down in the basement while the sirens were going off!
Thursday they took Papou to the Children's Museum and had a blast!
They saw the Terra Cotta Warriors exhibit that just opened up as well.
The Great Slide of China!
AND so Maverick didn't feel left out, he got to join in on the fun on Friday. They started the day off as ALL days should (if you ask Phoebe) - at Dunkin Donuts!
Then headed to Conner Prairie to see their newest additions.
They started the visit outside before it got too hot.
Auntie Kate was brave and let them dip candles!
I've never seen them interact with the museum volunteers but it appears they were good listeners!
They rode the tram out to the Civil War area to play in the water a bit. I think they loved the little ride more than the water!
After lunch, they visited the new interior play land that opened up that day.
Saturday, we stopped for cupcakes while we were out running errands. It had been on their to-do list with Auntie after Conner Prairie but they'd run out of time so it was a must for part of their weekend!
Maverick was very protective of his frosting!
Sunday, we got a little late start to church so decided to stop for breakfast.
The food took forever to arrive and thus we missed second service at church as well.
Finally free and tummies full of goodness!
We decided to run to the Fishers Freedom Festival since the rain hadn't started.
Phoebe got her face painted.
Maverick got a zillion tattoos from the various vendors.
The weather has continued to throw a wrench in our summer. This was my view on Monday - gray and wet with lots of lightning and thunder. Beats the tornadoes that hit 15 miles from my desk the week before though! I'm a chicken and was in awe of everyone around me conducting business as usual while the sirens were blaring.
Yesterday, Phoebe was supposed to have a pool day at camp but because the weather didn't cooperate they cancelled the trip. She was so disappointed so we went to the pool before dinner instead.
Between the kiddos and crazy clouds, it was a great way to end the day.
