Every quarter, our church holds a Family Experience on a Friday night. They do a kids' sermon and then let the kids loose in the church to participate in games and bounce houses. I love it for the lesson and fun atmosphere. The kids love it for the prizes (aka candy).
Katie and I took a quick trip up to Chicago at the end of May to get in some sibling time with Steve before his chemo treatments started.
We brought him all kinds of goodies to keep him busy and ease his stomach. I think he may have enough various forms of ginger to last him a good long while.
The kids sent up some "hugs" for him in the mail that he happened to receive while we were in town.
The Rousopoulos family loves the Windy City. It offers all kinds of fun. Ran into this monster door on the way to church after brunch.
It was fun to worship together. We are all trusting in the one true God to heal Steve and it was comforting to be all in one place, trusting in the One who created each of us.

YiaYia and Papou drove up to be with Steve for his first round of chemo so we celebrated Dad's 66th birthday together.
Because of Steve's young age, our family doctor told a small fib to get me a colonoscopy. The night before was something I've blocked from my memory. Luckily, Katie was able to help us out and play parent during my appointment Auntie caught this candid of Maverick before bedtime.
While Katie got the kids to school, Ryan and I checked in for my procedure. Clean-as-a-whistle results made the whole experience entirely worthwhile.
We picked the kiddos up early from school and headed down to Georgia. We were greeted by Nana and Sophie with the kids' first experience with silly string!
The kids had lots of fun playing with Sophie.
I stayed at Carrie and Mike's with the kids while the rest of the adults attended Lucas' high school graduation.
They played hard. Then they bathed hard!
Saturday was Lucas' open house.
We also celebrated Sophie's 6th birthday!
They quickly put her water balloons to good use!
And when those ran out, they pulled out the sprinkler!
We made the trip home successfully in one day (the way down took two days and over 13 hours in the truck) so we were very excited!
We did have to make a pit stop or two to break up the trip.
We made a quick drive to Upland on Memorial Day to drop off a new mattress set to Auntie Kate from Aunt Debi. No trip to Upland is complete without a visit to Ivanhoe's.
The kids had no school on Friday so we headed to Ryan's office and had a quick lunch with him and then made our way to the zoo to check out their new Lego exhibit.
No trip to the zoo is complete without riding the roller coaster!
While Ryan was on a weekend camping trip/bachelor party, we had a full schedule. Friday night, we had a birthday pool party in the neighborhood.
Saturday morning we had 8:00 and 8:30 soccer games. Phoebes just had sprinkles for hers but by the time Maverick's started, he was playing in the pouring rain.
He threw on my rain jacket and was an orange flash every time he ran!
We went to Saturday night church and stopped for dinner on the way home. Uncle Steve's influence runs strong with this one. He's been playing with his food since we were kids and passed the talent along to my kids!
Sunday morning, we ran a few errands and stopped for breakfast at Panera. It was lovely outside and the kids were a bit unruly so we ate on the patio - alone.
Sunday afternoon we had a going away party for one of our neighbors. We have made some great friends over our years here and I know we'll be sad to see them go.
By the time the party was over, Ryan was home and I was oh-so-grateful!
