Clean Sweep in Anderson

Saturday morning we got up and headed to Anderson.  My grandparents went to Kansas to celebrate the 70th anniversary of their very first date.  What better way to celebrate than a trip to the Kansas State Fair, just like they did so many years ago.  What an amazing example of love, loyalty and romance!

We got to do a little "spring" cleaning and get to the things normal octogenarians can't quite reach anymore!  Maverick delegated tasks looking oh so cute and hivey!

Phoebe had a great time playing with her cousins!

David was SUCH a big help!  Seriously, I hope our kids are as eager to help when they're his age!

This is Aunt Bonnie's face of concentration!

Here's Papou's!

Good thing we have one tall guy in the bunch!

David and Hailey got Phoebe to burn some energy outside - yep, that's our kid face down on the lawn!

It's hard for me NOT to compare Maverick with where Phoebe was at his age.  She was already sitting at five months and we're closing in on almost six and he's nowhere near sitting on his own.  He loves seeing everything from this vantage point, he's just a little too top-heavy to stay upright by himself!

Phoebe's newest talent - thanks, David and Hailey!  It must be those limber Newell genes!

Hailey brought Phoebe quite a few pairs of shoes - it may take a year or two to grow into them but that didn't stop Phoebe from trying every pair on.  She got some coordinating outfits to go with them, too!

LOVE our happy kiddos!
