It's hard to believe this big guy (weighing in at 15 lbs. 11 oz.) is five months already!
Ryan got Maverick to stay propped up in Phoebe's chair and he just looks so big to me here.
Just a few pictures to document what sibling love looks like around our house on a Saturday morning.
We got an unsolicited American Girl catalog in our mailbox last week. Phoebe was enraptured "reading" it while in the car. Hopefully she'll forget about them as I have no desire to start putting aside a doll fund.
Saturday we celebrated YiaYia's "16th" birthday!
Phoebe loves to help open presents, even when they're not for her!
Uncle Steve came to town to help celebrate and spent Sunday evening at our house getting his Phoebe fix. I say "Phoebe fix" as she still isn't real keen on sharing time with her little brother.
Good thing he's still too young to realize all the fun he was missing out on!
They played with remote control cars.
Read books before bed.
We all met up for breakfast Monday morning before he headed back to Chicago. We dressed Maverick in Cubs gear (or as Ryan says: putting a winner in a loser's outfit) just for Uncle Steve!
I L-O-V-E this picture of YiaYia and Phoebe! Note the stacks of creamer on the table - Phoebe has an infinite number of ways to entertain herself when we go out to eat!
Maverick is rarely seen without something in his mouth these days but we've yet to see any pearly whites start to peek through.
It was close to his nap time and he wanted everyone to know!
Uncle Steve is not a fan of tears!
Phoebe had SO much fun with Uncle Steve!
We spent the rest of Monday working on a couple of projects - fitting since it was Labor Day. Phoebe wanted to help out - as you can see by her shoes, this girl doesn't let fashion get in the way of handiwork.
We also found out this week that KinderDance is on Fridays, not Thursdays like I thought - but we're going to find a way to make it work. Here she is trying on her tap shoes for the first time.
This little guy came home with a nasty rash Wednesday night. After visiting the pediatrician on Thursday, we were told it was just a case of viral hives and they would go away on their own and not contagious. Maverick seemed unbothered by them and they're already disappearing so we're thankful. He's had some bizarre cough that would wake him up between 2-4 in the morning for the last three weeks. Coincidentally, they stopped as soon as the hives appeared. Either way, we're glad they're both on their way out the door!
And as we've begun to pack up our home, we're rediscovering all kinds of items. For example, we found this little treasure courtesy of my childhood friend, Katie. Maverick wasn't sure what to do with it since it's not like his normal wa-wa but he kept it in long enough for me to snap a quick picture.
