Weekend in Georgia

Phoebe is sleeping a bit more soundly through the night now that she gets to eat cereal with her dinner. While we were packing, Ryan couldn't resist getting a few shots - I think we've got a thumb sucker on our hands!

We decided to head to Georgia since we had a long weekend, leaving early from work around 4:15 on Thursday. Phoebe was stellar the entire trip! We stopped an hour each way to get her out of her car seat, feed her, change her and just walk her and Pita around - it gave us a chance to stretch our legs too - we're certainly not as young as we used to be!

She got to see her Aunt Carrie again - she hadn't seen her since the end of May so it was fun to see them interact. Everyone agrees that Phoebe is definitely her daddy's girl.

Phoebe got to spend some time with her future Uncle Mike. We think Mike's a bit unsure about all this kid business, but he became an old pro in nothing flat! We're still pulling for another cousin for Phoebe!!!

Phoebe also got to meet Matt, Alecia and Ella for the first time. Ella is really into babies right now and kept calling Phoebe her baby. She wanted to hold her and it was quite entertaining. Ella did give us a little glimpse of what is in our future two years down the road...it's amazing how loud those little people can get!

One of the reasons Ryan wanted to get to Georgia so bad was to get Phoebe in the pool. We got her little swim skirt on but it served no purpose other than cover up her diaper - I had no idea those suckers could hold so much water! This picture I just couldn't resist posting - it shows she's got her daddy's frame, long torso and all!

The next day we ran a few errands and did a little shopping. Even the Georgia sun couldn't stop this girl from enjoying a little time doing one of her mom's favorite activities!
Lucas got to enjoy Saturday out on the water and strategically missed certain parts of his face when applying sunscreen. He's been back to school for a month now and already hit up his aunt and uncle for their first fundraiser - he's lucky I love school fundraiser wrapping paper - am I a sucker or what?!

We left late in the afternoon on Sunday so Phoebe could keep her sleep schedule in tact. We had to get in a few last pictures with Nana and Papa and then take one last soak in the pool to ward off the 90+ degree temperatures that about did us in!
