Just a shot of our silly kids one night this past week. It's quite difficult for Phoebe to take a simply smiling picture these days - she's always goofy. On the other hand, Maverick is quick to give a smile to just about anyone who smiles at him first.
We had a busy day on Friday because we met with our realtor - it seems there just might be someone crazy enough to buy our house. If the inspection goes well tomorrow - we'll have to be out of our house on the 23rd of September. What's a little more stress in life, right???
Regardless, we think it's one heck of a "good buy!"
After our meeting, I took the kids to go get Phoebe ballet slippers. She starts KinderDance next week and we are soooo excited! Here she is in all her pirouetting glory!
Friday night Mav just couldn't get satisfied so we decided to try some oatmeal. I'd bought oatmeal and rice cereal before his four month appointment since that was when we started cereal with Phoebe. However, our pediatrician said they're now recommending waiting closer to six months unless they're just really interested.
Let's just say that this little guy is VERY interested - the two times he's had it, he's finished the whole bowl - and he slept till 6:45 this morning so Mommy is definitely interested, too!
Saturday, Ryan spent over an hour in the BMV to get my license plate taken care of while the rest of us hung out in the van. Maverick took a nap, ate and there was still room for Phoebe to run around and stay entertained.
Phoebe wanted to try her hand at the camera. She had a hard time figuring out that her fingers in front of the lens would show up on the picture...
Then we headed to Jersey's Cafe for lunch. We'd been wanting to give it a try ever since we saw it featured on Diners Drive-Ins & Dives on the Food Network a year or so ago. I got a little nervous when we walked in and they had some disclaimer about how good food can sometimes take up to an hour to prepare...NOT what you want to see when you've got two kids in tow! It was good food - just not sure we'd go back with the kids!
After lunch, we tried out a new park that just opened. One of the perks of Ryan's job is that he's ALL over town and discovers all kinds of parks that we'd probably never have heard of otherwise.
Sunday after church and a look at a few houses, we headed to a birthday party. Our friends' little girl, Lilly was turning one so they had a lily pad-themed party.
Phoebe and Logan had fun with Lilly's new picnic basket - I'm not sure Lilly even got to play with it that day!
Maverick got to hang out in the shade and soak his little toes.
The weather has been lovely this week (although we're about to hit another short 90s streak) so MacKenzie came over yesterday to play outside.
Here's Phoebe's pouty face - still cute, isn't it?
Here's our wound-up kids at bedtime. No wonder we have issues getting to bed on time! Phoebe LOVES to read and Maverick even likes looking at pictures for a short while so books will always be part of our nighttime routine.
