Although we worked most of last week, it was pretty slow which lent to leaving early a couple of days. On Wednesday, we headed to Cookie Cutters to get a much needed haircut for Phoebe. She said she wanted it cut short like Maria's - a friend of hers from school who happened to get a hold of a pair of scissors at home and cut her own hair. We compromised and got it short but kept the bangs long. She looks SO grown up!
Speaking of growing up, this little guy is interested in holding his own bottles. Such a big boy!
It may have only been 30 degrees outside but Phoebe still likes to dress for summer when she's inside!
Friday, we headed down to Princeton to visit with GG, GGWallis and Nana and Papa. We got there before Nana and Papa so we entertained ourselves with GG's box of goodies.
When everyone woke up in the morning, it was time to celebrate Christmas!
Aunt Carrie and Uncle Mike saved the day by giving Phoebe a big Clifford - our smaller version was a casualty of the Wallis Stomach Bug of 2011. Since then, every time we'd pass "Big Clifford" at Target, she said she "needed him for Christmas."
After losing numerous pieces of toast over Thanksgiving, Nana requested a new toaster for Christmas!
And FINALLY - Jessie was hers! Phoebe had been asking for her non-stop since Christmas morning.
This one is still attempting to crawl. He goes backwards more than forwards, but he's up on all fours a lot these days.
We got Nana some boots so she could go out and feed all her chickens. Maverick really enjoyed them!
Playing with Nana! Not sure what they were doing but they were having fun!
Papa wanted to have a tenderloin while in Indiana so we headed to Two Rivers out in Mt. Carmel, Illinois for lunch. My happy, purple girls!
In the afternoon, we headed to The Waters, a nursing home in Princeton where GGWallis was recuperating after a losing battle with her front door. She's in rehab for a cracked pelvis and will be there a few more weeks. While there, we got a visit from Aunt Cindy so that was a fun surprise!
Maverick decided to take a nap during our visit.
Showing off a bib we got him for Christmas.
Here's my smart aleck husband trying to figure out how old he'll be on Saturday.
He figured it out - THIRTY FIVE. Hard to believe we're hitting those mid-thirties! GG made all his favorites - chicken & dumplings, real mashed potatoes, red hot applesauce...and pecan pie!
Phoebe had fun with Abby, Annie and CoCo!
I think we need to get a bigger apartment just to fit all the new toys our kids accumulated over the holidays!
Sharing an excited hug with Daddy!
Maverick did not sleep well in Princeton - not sure if it was sleeping in the pack n play or if he's getting an ear infection. Either way, he took lots of naps and gave everyone a chance to snuggle with him which isn't the case when he's awake.
Phoebe and Nana made Daddy a birthday cake to make the celebration official.
We didn't think ahead and bring birthday candles so we made due.
Nana also got to nap with Maverick.
Our last morning in Princeton. Love how well our kids are loved by their Nana!
Maverick is putting everything into his mouth - maybe more teeth will be making their way into his mouth shortly...either way, GG made sure he had plenty to keep him occupied!
Last minute hugs inside Nana's vest.
Our crazy kids (and us, too!) had a great time down in Princeton, ringing in the New Year and celebrating a late Christmas.
