Being a new year and all, one of my many resolutions is to get back in the habit of blogging on a regular basis. My life is too busy and my memory too short that if I don't get it down with blogger, I'm afraid they'll be 10 and 8 and I won't remember much of their early childhood..so here's a quick recap in three easy installments of the last month of 2012.
The month started off a little rocky in that Ryan's boss fell out of a deer stand while hunting alone in the wee hours of the morning. Because he was not discovered until hours after the incident, little could be done and a few days later he was taken off life support and passed away quickly thereafter. In the year or so that Ryan's company has been under his ownership, I'd never met him but had heard plenty of colorful stories. It was an emotional funeral - he was only 43, had 5 children and had a very generous heart. They're planning to keep all the companies up and running so we're praying that Ryan's job remain secure and continue to keep his family close to our hearts this holiday season.
We had yet another birthday party to attend for Eli and everyone headed to Recreation Unlimited to celebrate. We hadn't been in almost a year so it was fun to burn some energy and test out all the playground equipment in the middle of December.

They did a fun little treat/craft with chocolate donuts. We revisited this one down in Georgia and they turned out just as cute!

Phoebe also had a promotional ceremony for Crouching Tigers. She went from Yellow Belt to Orange Belt and has told us multiple times that she prefers "karate" to KinderDance. They counted to 10 in Japanese - something I can't even do.

December sort of snuck up on us with the move and then being sick over Thanksgiving. We had a LOT of Christmas baking to do and Phoebe was a great taste-tester!
