So 2013 started a little rough for the Wallis family. We successfully finished the short work week after the New Year but 7:00 Friday evening, Maverick puked all over the kitchen floor. Mommy puked Saturday, Phoebe puked at 3:00 Sunday morning and Daddy just felt REALLY lousy on Monday (his 36th birthday). The good news is that it was fast moving and didn't linger more than 12 hours once it hit so at least it was short lived. See? You can't even tell he was sick just the day before!?
We got a large box full of fun toys and crazy outfits from my dear friend the following week. Maverick is in love with all things train (or as he says, "CHOO CHOO!!!").
And you can see why we don't allow the Rapunzel costume to be worn at the dinner table...we're having a hard time eating our vegetables or trying new things these days but are trying desperately to lay some ground rules now. This was her fight to not eat soup. She thinks "soup" is "disgusting." Oy.
And because we were sick over the first weekend in January, our Christmas with Uncle Steve, YiaYia and Papou was postponed till this past weekend.
Bevin made the trek as well and kept the kiddos entertained.

Phoebe (aka Rapunzel) helped everyone open their gifts.
So did Maverick.
Maverick only slept for maybe twenty minutes before they arrived so we took a little break to rest on Papou's lap and look at his favorite seek & find Thomas book. He got the same book from both grandparents so now we have one for the car and one for the house - it worked out perfectly!
While Mav "read," Phoebe convinced Uncle Steve to watch her favorite Christmas movie with her - Home Alone. Uncle Steve got a little nap in, too!
Phoebe is REALLY into changing clothes these days and loves skirts, dresses and boots.
We also celebrated Ryan's birthday while we were together. He asked for brownies and ice cream so that made my job pretty easy.
This little girl LOVES her daddy!
Maverick is very interested in helping these days and his stubborn side shines through. He's very insistent on doing things without any help and I fear we're going to have a few battles in the very near future. The "terrible two's" may be our new reality in just a couple of months!
Among truck accessories, kayak storage and garage organization, he also got another coveted Starbucks card. These items are a hot commodity in our household - even Phoebe knows what she likes to order there. Luckily the one right by our house does NOT have a drive-thru or we'd really be in trouble!
Ahhhh, family!
