Catch Up December 2012, Part 3

We left for Georgia Friday morning and 30 seconds outside of our neighborhood, this is what we encountered.  Things were NOT looking good for us to make good time.

Luckily, we had this little guy in the truck.

...and coffee, so we were set!

After a lovely accident on I-75 north of Lexington, we made it to Georgia 12 1/2 hours later...and first things first, we had to visit the chickens.

Phoebe got the eggs.

Then warmed up to the hens.

Maverick seemed ok with them, too!

Phoebe found Carrie's New Testament Bible at Nana's house and was obsessed with "reading" it the first few days we were there.

Ready for church!

Nana and Papa's church had snow fall down during one of the songs during the service and it fell again when it was over.  Maverick thought it was so neat - they were actually teeny tiny bubbles so NO clean up - it was actually pretty cool.

After dinner one night, we pulled out our little donut reindeer treat for the grand kids and even Lucas was a good sport about it!  GG was in Georgia for the holidays as well so we got to visit with her AND CoCo (not to mention Aunt Debi's dogs Toby, Lily and Stinky that were visiting while she was out in California).

We celebrated Uncle Mike's belated birthday with shotgun shells!

Maverick took a special liking to Annie.

Phoebe and Nana going to great lengths to make me spanikopita for the holidays!

Phoebe and Sophie keeping watch at the dinner table.

Phoebe wrote her own letter to Santa this year (note the homemade baklava on the table!? Our Nana rocks!!!).

Merry Christmas morning!  (Maverick was a terror AND a hoot on this thing!)

She got her sleeping bag so she's completely ready for sleepovers now!

And a pink alarm clock with "real" numbers on it!

Grand daddy sent his gifts over from Virginia, too!

She wanted Lotso (the mean bear from Toy Story 3) and has asked for him repeatedly over the last year.  I can't even tell you where he is but I assure you he's long forgotten...Ryan has high hopes that this trend she shows favoring the bad guy doesn't translate over into her dating life later on...

Maverick inherited Lucas' old train table so Santa brought him trains!

Waiting for the rest of the family to arrive, we got some fresh air with a wagon ride.

Once everyone showed up, happy chaos ensued.

Chris, Corrie, Bailey & Parker arrived from Kokomo Christmas night and we celebrated Christmas with them the next day.

Papa took Phoebe, Bailey and Maverick for a tractor ride.  Can you tell which kid thought it was too loud?

We had SO much fun with GG, Nana & Papa, aunts, uncles and cousins that it was hard to say good-bye Thursday morning.  Luckily we missed the "blizzard" that was forecasted to be a lot worse than it was.  We arrived home to about 5 inches of snow and my lovely family had been kind enough to shovel our driveway before we got home in only 10 hours instead of 12.5!  We can't wait to see them again in the spring, with hopefully warmer weather!
