Easter Weekend

Phoebe has had her birthday celebration spread out for a couple of weeks now - which has probably helped ease the transition of adding Maverick to the household.  She got a birthday package from Granddaddy in Virginia.

She got another package from Uncle Mike and Aunt Carrie in Georgia.

We LOVE Crayola Color Wonder - especially when it involves princesses!

Maverick watched all the gift opening with oohs and aahs.

Friday, Auntie Kate arrived at our house bright and early to meet our little guy and spend some time with the Phoebes.  We dyed Easter eggs while Maverick slept.

Auntie read books to Phoebe, Maverick slept.

We made Greek Easter cookies while he snoozed some more.

Saturday, we ran a few errands and then headed to YiaYia and Papou's to celebrate Phoebe's and Auntie's birthdays.  This is just a picture to prove that our little guy is growing - his newborn outfit looks more like capris than pants.  Crazy how fast they change!  And of course, he's asleep again.

Obviously, Ryan was having a blast.

Here's one birthday girl getting ready to celebrate.

Tricky sparkler candles.

We got more pink, princessy stuff than we know what to do with.

Thanks, Uncle Steve, for the menagerie of princesses and all their little accessories!

An attempt at a family picture.

Auntie got Phoebe a soccer ball and goal.  Although it's been nothing but rainy in Indiana, the skies cleared enough to get outside and kick the ball around.

Uncle Steve doesn't know his own strength and accidentally kicked the ball into Phoebe's face.  She was still talking about it the next morning.  Luckily, YiaYia was there to give hugs and kisses.

Trying out her new bike helmet Easter morning while Daddy made homemade donuts.

GGMa and GGPa came over for lunch on Sunday and they came bearing gifts.  Maverick now has his very own quilt!  After all the princess stuff, it's been fun to get some boy blue in our house!

Some Mama-lovin'!

Phoebe proudly showing off her Easter eggs.

And some baby brother lovin' too!  She loves to play with his ears.

Uncle Steve got to spend some time with Maverick, too.  He thinks the kid sleeps too much!

YiaYia and Uncle Steve thought it'd be fun to have a Peeps contest over dessert.

I'm pretty sure GGMa will NOT come for Easter lunch ever again.  Note the yellow drool dripping from the face.  Ewww.

Phoebe showing the GG's her Easter basket.  We've been working on the meaning of Easter and the Easter story with Phoebe.  I think to best sum it up, YiaYia tried to explain that Jesus is our friend and Phoebe's frank response (multiple times) was, "He's not MY friend."  So we're working on it...she's still young.

Papou getting some Maverick time.

And of course another rousing rendition of  "Tomorrow."

Monday was my day home with both kiddos.  I was on the floor and asked Phoebe to pass me the Boppy.  She said she needed her dolly first and promptly sat down on the couch to "feed" her.

Then the baby spit up.

And then her other baby doll was hungry, too.

And this poor girl is in dire need of more attention.  Our supposed yorkie-poo, CoCo has been a great sport as she also adjusts to life with an infant in the house.  Any takers!?  Seriously.
