Phoebe is THREE!

Yeah, it's taking me a bit longer to post these days - but it's because I've got adorable chicken legs like these to look after and they've turned our world all topsy turvy.  No complaints (other than needing a few more hours of sleep and the occasional shower)!

The little man does have a set of lungs on him and Phoebe has found various ways to "escape" when she's home with him.  Here's where I found her on Monday, under the computer desk, singing away.

Saturday, our little girl turned three, so hard to imagine!  With Ryan's family celebrating when they were up a couple of weeks ago and my extended family coming over Easter weekend, we didn't throw a third party on her actual big day.  We did ask her what she wanted to do and after breakfast at Cracker Barrel (her choice - and totally her mama's daughter!) we headed to Build-a-Bear (also her choice).  There she selected a kitty whom she quickly named "Ella" - as in "Cinderella."

Then we met some friends at Recreation Unlimited and let the kiddos burn some energy while it was gray, cold and rainy outside.

And the playhouses...if only we had thousands of dollars to spend on a playhouse...

She got to open another princess-themed gift.

And even gave out hugs afterwards!

On Sunday we headed to Yia-Yia and Papou's.  Of course, we brought Ella.

And celebrated with cupcakes.

She got to open another gift, too.

Daddy got to read books in the tower.

And then Yia-Yia got some one-on-one time with the Phoebes outside in the sun while the rest of us stayed in and dozed in between reading the paper.

And those are Ella the Kitty's pink sunglasses.  They just conveniently fit Phoebe.  Luckily, she's got Auntie Kate's sense of rhythm.

GGma and GGpa came over from Anderson so we could give some iPhone assistance.  Phoebe showed off Ella and her tower.

My goal on maternity leave has been to have Phoebe in school Tuesday through Thursday.  Monday was a long day, but we made it - the house looked like a train had gone through, but we survived!

We even gave Maverick his first official bath.  He pooped and screamed (could be that I was wasting time taking pictures instead of keeping him as warm as he liked!) - I wouldn't exactly call it a success, but we're getting there!

It POURED down rain Tuesday.  The clouds were gray.  Maybe those two facts kept Phoebe in bed till 10:15.  Regardless, I was not about to attempt a walk through the parking lot in the torrential downpour just to get Phoebe to school.  So she stayed home and ate cookies for breakfast. 

We did venture to Super Target (to keep Mama sane) once the rain cleared up.  She's been a trooper through this transition and we're SO proud of our three year old!  Maverick couldn't be MORE lucky to have her for a big sister!
