Picking up from the last post, we left the park and decided to go to YiaYia and Papou's and see if things stopped or progressed. It seemed that whenever I sat down, they stopped. We got there around 6:30, and by 7:30 they were pretty consistent. However, per the OB's orders, I wasn't supposed to show up till I'd experienced contractions for an hour at five minutes apart. I waited as long as I could and finally told Ryan we should go around 8:30 because I'm a baby and couldn't handle the pain. The five minute ride from their house to the hospital was probably the longest ride of my life. We pulled into the ER entrance as I couldn't even stand to walk and by the time I got to the room, the gown half way on and onto the bed, my "bulging" water broke as they checked me and declared I was already at 9 cm. They promised I could still have an epidural, so I just laid their with my eyes closed and did my best to wait it out. The short and sweet of it is we arrived at 9:00 and Maverick James Wallis made his way into the world at 9:29 p.m. All 7 pounds, 10 ounces and 21 inches of him. Ryan said that the noises coming from our delivery room convinced every woman in the hospital that they indeed, needed an epidural if there was still time. Not my proudest moment, by far, but the result was just the same, a miracle.
We're not quite sure who he looks like, but this photo is almost identical to the one we snapped of Phoebe nearly three years ago.
Proud papa.
Proud mama.
Maverick was thoughtful enough to buy big sister a gift and brought it to the hospital so she could open it after she met him.
He knew her well enough to stick to a princess theme.
Proud YiaYia.
Proud big sister.
Nana and Papa left early the next morning from Georgia to meet the little guy.
Here's Mav with Daddy watching the Butler Bulldogs Monday night - their first of many sporting events together, I am sure.
We were released at 10:30 Tuesday night and survived our first night at home. He slept REALLY well, as long as he was being held so it was a rough night for me - but he got a long stretch in the pack n play this morning, so hopefully we're making progress.
Thank you for all your prayers, love and support throughout this long pregnancy. We are so grateful that God has blessed us with this little man and we're so excited to introduce him to everyone!

Congratulations, Wallis family!! Rose, I can't believe you didn't get an epidural! You are such a trooper. It really scares me thinking about number two and going up there!
Love the pictures...I can't wait to meet your little cuties! Good job on posting new pictures so soon :) Love you!
